THE CAVERSHAM SEAT.
[by telegraph.] Dunedin, Tuesday. Mr W. Earnshsw, one of the candidates for the vacant Caversham seat, addressed the electors this evening. He announced himself as a supporter of measures, instead of men. The candidate received a fair hearing, althongh there was considerable opposition. At his own request no vote of thanks or confidence was proposed. The meeting carried a vote of condolence with the widow ef the late Mr Morrison, on the motion of Mr Earnahaw.
