TARADALE

1 [JBOH OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Ootober 27, 1900. The usual monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Saturday evening. Present - Messrs Waterhouse (ohairman), Harrison, Howard, Whibley, and Eandell. A letter was read from Mr Ridley, in which he tendered his resignation as commissioner on the Board. He considered he should have been elected ohairman. — The resignation was received by the Board with regret. Applications were then opened for the position of dog tax collector and ranger combined, and that of Mr C. Davis, who holds the same position under the County Council, was accepted at a salary of .£8 perannnm. On the motion o( jbhe chairman, a general rate of 4d in the Jll was levied for the ensuing year. The report of the health commissioner, Dr. de Lisle, was referred to, but no action was taken, as the Board deoided to wait till they knew what the Legislature had done in the matter, the statute having not yet come to hand.
