THE FREDERICKSTAD BATTLE.
A SEVEEE ENCOUNTER. HEAYT CASUALTIES. BOEE TEEAOHERY. SUMMABY JURISDICTION. Beoalved October 29, 1.14 a.m. London, Ootober 28. The capture of the cavalry at Philippolis was the result of an ambush. General Barton's Koyal Soots and the Welsh Fusiliers displayed conspicuous gallantry at Frederickstad. Thirteen were killed and 28 wounded. The enemy abandoned 21 dead and 19 wounded. Twenty-six were captured. Three Boers who fired treacherously after they held up their hands were Court-martialled and shot.
