The British authorities arrested 380 vagrant foreigners at Pretoria on suspioion of their intention to raise a riot. The cavalry and mounted infantry columns commanded by Generate Tan Hamilton, French, nud Hiokinan, aro foroing the Boers under Botha eastward from the vioinity of Pretoria towards Middleburg. General Bnller is meanwhile advanoing to the north-weßt from Standerton. When the pioket of Yorkshires was surprised near Lindley it fought till only six men remained capable of defenceThese with their bayonets alone held the enemy at bay until relieved.
