FOOTBALL.

The Turanganui (Gisborne) football team will not visit Napier this season. There was a good attendance at the Recreation Ground yesterday to witness the football match Cabmen v. Bakers. The respective teams formed a procession with their banners, and proceeded from the post-office on to the ground. A good game resulted, ending — Bakers 8 points, Cabmen 7 points. Mr Allen acted as referee. The proceeds to the Indian Famine Fund will amount to about £3. Both teams sent representatives to the funeral of the victim of Saturday's football, and otherwise testified their reapect for the deceased,
