SUNDAY PERFORMANCES.

Wellington, Monday. Mr Walter Bentley was charged at the S.M. Court to-day with three breaches of the law in giving Sunday performances and making a ohargo other than provided by the Police Offences Act either during the performance or at its close. Evidence was given that a fixed prioe was demanded for reserved seats. For the defence it was plodded that the I lessee should have been sued and not Bentley, and that the lecture did not come under the scope of the Aot. Judgment was reserved.
