[FBOJf OWL OWN COBEEBPONDENT.] January 26, 1899. In referring to the presentation made to the Bey. A. S. Morrison on Tuesday night, it should have been stated that the sum of money presented in the purse to the reverend gentleman was subscribed for not only by the Hastings but also by the Clive congregation of the Presbyterian Church. Secretaries of ohurch societies, and in fact of all organisations; are reminded that if 'thejfaesire notices of meetings which are held it is only courteous to notify the representatives of the Press. Occ&siohaily, owing to this want of thought, meetings are only scantily reported, which . otherwise might have fuller notice. The case of the Police v. Messrs Hyde and Lisßoh was to have been heard today, but owing to the illness of Mr C. Hyde, who Had to be conveyed to the Napier hospital, Mr Scannell applied for and was granted an adjournment for a fortnight. Mr Gk Ellis, J.P., presided. There was a very large attendance at the sale of Messrs Brodribb's stock, at the D.8..C. Auction Marfc to-day, and the prices realised by the auctioneer, Mr W. T. Dennett, were very good all round. Neit Tuesday the linen drapery stock Will be disposed of at the same place.
