SOUTH AMERICAN REVOLUTION.

GOVERNMENT OP ECUADOR DEFENDED. Beceived January 26, 10 a.m. New Yokk, January 25. A revolution is in progress in Ecuador, A severe battle has been fought between the Government troops and the insurgents. The latter were decisively defeated, , their loss being 400 killed, 300 wounded, and 400 prisoners. The losses of the Government troops are not stated.
