ALDINGTON MARKET/, Chbistchuech, Wednesday. There were good entries in most classes of stock at the Addington market to-day, and business wag brisk in most departments. Entries comprised 14,487 sheep . and lambs, 389 cattle, and 307 pigs; 171 fat cattle "were yarded, mostly handy ..weights. There was nothing in extra prime coming forward. The sale dragged slightly,- and last week's rates were barely maintained. Some good useful store cattle were sold. Better.. three-year-old steer 3 fetched .£3 17b 6d to . £A 12s 6d, two-year-old do £2 5s to £2 10s, 18-months cattle 355, and yearlings 20s to 30s. There was a large yarding of fat sheep, the bulk being ewes. Good lines of freezing sheep and young ewes, sold •very well, the latter Bhowing a slight advance, but old ewes were a drug and several lots remained unsold. v Freezers brought from 12s to 14a, and xmfinißbed wethers down to lls ; good young ewea, 103 to 12s lid ; • medium do 8s Gd to 9s 9d, and aged stores down to 6s. " | A little over 3000 lambs were in the fat peus, a good many unfinished sorts amougst them. Prime freezers were slightly firmer, and sold at from lls to 12s 6d ; extra prime up to 13s 4d, and others down to 7s 6d. ! There was a heavy entry of stores, all classes meeting with a good sale. Forward 4-tooth wethers 10s 3d to lls 3d, mixed sexes 10s to 10a Bd, mixed 2-tooths Ss 7d to 10s 6d, young breeding ewes 8s 4d to 9s sd, and sound mouthed do 8s to ;8b Gd ; lambs 8s 9d to 9s 4d, and shorn do 7a Bd. Pat pigs brought high prices, the average being from 4Jd to 4Jd per lb.
