LAW EXPENSES.

[by telegraph.] Auckland, Wednesday. At the Board of Education an account for law expenses in connection with Hiss Haselden's appeal case was brought boforo the Board. Dr. Laishley's charge was .£47 183 6d, and that of Stont, "Findlay and Co. £3!> 6s fid ; printing copies of the appeal, .£l2 10s ; total, £Q5 10s. Mr Udy said the whole thing was brought about by the action of the Educational Institute, which Bhould be made responsible for the debt. The Chairman said the Board had been led into the expense through the action of one of their teachers. It was agreed to refer tho matter to the finance committee to deal with.
