UITLANDEES* LEAGUE PBOSECUTED. Keceived January 21, 10 a.m. Cape Town, January 20. From news received here, subjeot to Boer censorship, it transpires that a hitch has occurred in connection with the prosecution of members of the Uitlanders' League of South Africa.^ This prosecution, which is based upon the charge that the League is an illegal society, is now proceeding at Johannesburg. . The Public Prosecutor subpoenaed the British vice-consul to give evidence, but as he failed to appear in response to the summons the Court was adjourned, and the Executive Council of the Eepublic are now considering the situation.
