DANGEBOUS STATE' OF THE MINE. THE TIMBEBS BENT AND BROKEN. Deceived January 18, 11,30 p.m. Stdnet, Wednesday. In the evidence at the inquiry on the East Greta colliery accident two miners alleged the timbers were bent and broken for several days before the accident occurred, and that ouo of the deceased expressed his determination sot to stay in the mine until the defect w&s remedied. The mine manager promised thai; the timbers would be replaced by the end of the week. Witness deposed that the accident occurred at the spot where the timbers were defective.
