PROJECTED DEPARTURES.

Te Anau, s.s., for Wellington and Southern ports, to-day. Kia Ora, for Gisborne and Anckland, January ,17th. Mora,' 8.5., for Gisborne and Auokland, January 17th. Mokoia, s.s., for Wellington and Southern ports, January 19th. Elingamite, s.s., for Northern ports and Sydney, January 20th'. The Union Company's s.s. Te Anau is due at the breakwater at about 6 this morning from Gisborne and Auckland. She brings 125 tons cargo and two horses, and is advertised to leave for Wellington and Southern ports at noon. The Union Company's a.s. Kia Ora leaves Gisborne this morning for Napier. She calls at boat harbors on the way to piok up wool, and arrives this , evening. She leaves for Gisborne, coast stations, and Auckland to-morrow evening. The s.s. Ahuriri returned from Mohaka on Saturday afternoon frith a quantity of wool. The s.b. Fanny arrived on Saturday morning with a full cargo from Wellington, which she discharged during the day, and left' again for Wellington yesterday afternoon. : The s.s. Fairy . arrived on Saturday afternoon from Mohaka and Arapawanui with a cargo of wool, which will be landed this morning. The Weka left for Gisborne yesterday afternoon and returns to-morrow. The s.s. Hesketh arrived on Saturday morning with a full cargo of coal from Greymouth for Messrs J. and W. Ft ebble. She was busy discharging all day and will continue the work on Monday, and expects to be all out by evening. Under date of December Bth, Messrs E. W. Forbes and Son report :— Last rates to New Zealand by sail were 20s and primage. No' vessels are now loading, and with nothing on hand for Australia and New Zealand, and no rates quoted, future transactions are pretty well barred. Bucknall's line will despatch the s.s. Bibston for Australia and New Zealand early.in January, and the Tyser steamer Hawke's Bay sails about the same time for the same ports.' Their rate was advanced on November 14th to 17s 6d, and later to 25s for light measurement and 35s for weight, all prepaid, with 10 par cent primage. The partners of three out bl four firms comprising the New York group are in London, and are believed to be in communication with Tyser's and Bucknall's lines to make permanent freight arrangements. ■ Great enterprise is being displayed by the Tyser Line Shipping. Company in its attempt to cope wit'a the growing trade ,of the colony. Two new steamers are now being built, one of them, the Tomoana, being partially completed. The local agents have been advised that the Hawke's Bay will leave New York for the oolony on the 20th instant, the Queen Eleanor on the 15th February, and the Tomoana during March. Captain Lobb has left the Corinna and has taken up his former position on the Taupo.
