THE CAROLINES.
PURCHASED BY GERMANY. Beceived January 10, 9.25 a.m. London, January 9. The Standard states that Germany has purchased the Caroline Islands from Spain. The consideration has not transpired. Germany, it is said, will not occupy the islands at once, but will wait until the protoool embodying the terms of peace between Spain and America has been endorsed by the Governments of those countries.
