PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The Council met yesterday. PresentMessrs White (chairman), Saxby, Crosse, M'Hardy, Buchanan, and Cr. Hunter, M.H.R. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence wao read and dealt with:— An offer of £200 as a subsidy from tho Wallingford Bead Board towarda the waterworks deviation scheme was received with thanks. From Porangahau Boad Board, stating intention to borrow £3000 for expenditure on county roads, and asking Council to expend the money. — The Council undertook the work on conditions. From Mr 6. Hunter, M.H.E., re valuations, and explanations from the Minister for Lands. CHRisrsrAs holidays. The County offices to be closed from December 24th to January sth for Christmas holidays. overseer's report. The following action resulted from the overseer's report : — .£75 addition voted to waterworks contract ; ,£25 improving road in Mangamaire Valley ; deviation at Wimbledon, TENDERB. Tenders as follows were dealt with • — 600 yards metalling at Hevbertville, E. Hall Is sd, T. Butler Is Bdj Hall accepted. Wallingford bridge, W. A. Chambers, .£3OB 9s (aocepted), J. Adams .£383 15s, J. Sellars £800 (informal), Latham and Co. .£393 17s, T. Butler ,£603 10s. Two bridges over Wainui rivei 1 , S, Martin ,£1253 17s 6d (accepted), Jensen and Gilmore (informal), Latham and Co. (error) .£872 13s, J. Adams .£l3ll lls lOd, W. A. Chambers £1274 15s 6d, J. Butler £1460 10a 4d, J. Sellar and Son £1459 6s 4d. Two and a half miles formation, culverts, and bridges. E. Hall, total £674 2s 6d, T. Butler £667 (accepted). Formation and metalling 37 chains, including bridge, Wimbledon, E. Hall £344 17s 2d (accepted), T. Butler £405. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £2275 10s 4d were passed for payment, and the Council adjourned.
