The following was the result of the BHAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE, Of 20 soys each, with 1000 boys added, second 2OD, third 100 soys ; about 3 miles 1 furlong, Floater, 12st 71b (Hales) ... 1 Pernbank, lOst (Glennon) ... 2 Euro, lOet 71b (Brooks) 3 Betting— 4 to 1 Pirate and Hayseed, 11 to 2 Floater, 7 to 1 Irish Stew, 8 to 1 Songster. — Eleven started. Pirate led out of the straight and along the river side from Irish Stew, N.Z. and Euro, aud maintained tho lead until the turn into the straight the first time, where he fell ; Guhl and Black also came down. N.Z. was then left in charge, and showed tno way into tho straight, followed by Floater and Euro, but fell at tho last hurdle in front of the stand. Irish Stew was now in front, and led Euro, Fernbank, and Floater to the abattoir, where Irish Stew fell. Floater and Fernbank entered the straight together, but in the run home the former forged ahead and at the finish won easily by 6 lengths, Songster fourth, Hayseed sth. No others finished. Time, Gmin 54£ sec.
