A great fire at Hamilton originated at 10 colock last night In Soott'a fanoy goods shop There was no one on the premises, Fifteen business plaoei were destroyed, namely, those of Scott, Home, Hatker (jeweller), Going, Davy, Taylor (tinsmith), Button (livery tt&blei), Mlii Malr, Mlsi Redmond, Young, Coyle, Carpenter, M'M&hon (bootmaker). Hamilton Hotel (late Qwynne'i, now Wright), M'lotyre (tobacoonlit). The Hamilton Timet bnltdlnga weie javad with dlfEoalty. It Is the most disastrous fire that has yet been experienced In Hamilton i Mo appliances to suppress the fire were available, i The total estimated loss Is £12 000.
