RUGBY UNION.
The Rugby Union met at tbe Criterion Hotel on Saturday evening. Present— i Mesßrg Fleming (In tbe ohalr), Norrin, Hlslop, Brewer, Fulton, Mitchell, Allan, O'Connell, Thompson, Swan, Kenonf, and the honorary secretary, H, C. Wilson. —Tbe following fixtures were arranged and referees appointed for next Saturday :— Cllve I. v. Caledonian 1,, Recreation Gronnd, at 3 p.m., Mr Logan ; Napier I. v. County I , Farndon, at 3 p.m., Mr Hlslop; Port Ahnrlrl v, Caledonian 11., Recreation Gronnd, at 1.30, Mr Norrk— A protect was lodged by tbe Pirates Clnb against I the West End In connection with Satnri day's junior m»toh on the grounds that tbe latter team played Woodward, who Is recognised as a senior player. The protest was upheld, but tho matoh will In all probability be played over again, later on during the sessnn.— lt waß deoidpd to write to the New Zealand Rugby Union with referenoe to the term " out of play. 1 ' —Tbe secretary w«a instructed to write to the Waipawa Union BBking them to arrange for the first Wednesday for a match with that) union.
