An enormous crowd congregated at the Citbedral at Piss, the capital of Tnsoany, to witness tho nnovering of an imago of the Madonna. While the ceremony was prooeediog a taper fell aod set fire to the decorations. Although the flames were quickly extinguished a terrible panlo ensued, and seven persons were dashed to death and 17 seriously iojared. Ia conßeqaenco of the disaster the ceremony was suspended.
