The monthly oommltteo meeting of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club was held yestorday at the Criterion Hotel, Captain KnsueU preaidlng.— An upplloation by the proprietors of the Bastings Standard for a share of the advertising was held over, and a similar application from the Sport' ing Review was declined, the llmlo for expenditure in this direction being already exceeded.— The Hastings Band asked tor a share of the club's patronage, On the motion of Captain Hussell it was resolved that the Hastings Band be engaged on trial for tbe Bummer meeting.— The nae of the grounds and buildings for the 12th instant was granted to the Rev. C. L. Tnke for a picnic for the Walpnknran Sunday School.— A letter was received from Mr J, H. Pollook, secretary of the Bookmakers' Association, forwarding three legal opinions on the subject of betting on raceconrees.— The transfer of the Apremont— Nautilus colt from E. Cutta to John Maher was agreed to. — It wus resolved that the snm ot 10s per week from the disabled jockey fnnd be allowed to James Redmond from ihe 3rd September to the 3lßt December.— The following licenses *ere grunted :— Trainers, J.
