IRecelved September 6, 9.30 p.m.) Pabis, September 5. An Anarchist, carrying a bomb, at^ tempted to light the fuse insido Rothschild's bank. A detective who observed Mm immediately seized the man, and in *he straggle the fuse wa9 forconately extinguished. The scoundrel was arrested, (Beoelved September 7, 12.60 a.mj September 6. Shortly before the closing of Rothsehlld's Bank the police saw a man enter the building, concealing something under bis coat and followed him. On reaching the stalrcwe leading to the first storey the man was caught trying to Hp,iic the fuse at the end of a cigarette. Upon seeing the policeman *c threw the bomb violently on the ground, but the thick carpet prevented an explosion. The would-be assassin rushed Into the street, but finding it impossible to escape, drew a razor and tried to cut the policeman's throat. The latter drew Us sword and kept the anarchist at bay, while a second gendarme seized him.
