At a meeting of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day, letters were received from kindred bodies, suggesting that the Government shonld be asked to convene a conference of representatives of Agricultural and Pastoral Associations and similar societies, to dlscnss the frozen meat trade and Mr Nathan's soheme. After some discussion, in which the opinion was expressed that the Government should not be asked to take the initiative, it was resolved " That in the event of the canfetence of delegates from Agricultural and Pastoral Associations being he'd to consider the frozen meat question, this association should be represented, and if such conference is called a special meeting of the committee should be convened to appoint delegates."
