The piece wob as amply realistic p.nd effective ai before, and tho applause was generous throughout!. The Cnp race was, as before, highly excltintr, and the incidents centring round it artistic and highly entertaining. The noting of bho principals was as vigorous and claver ai before, aud tho staging lelleck'd great credit on thogu concerned. At the i'uuclublou uf the cup race Mr Darrell took tbc opportunity of thanking the public for bheir patronage, and the Press for their kindly notices, and annoanced that he would probably return to Napier In August. "EAST LYNNE." To-night the original dramatised version of Mrs Wood's marvellously pathetic story " East Lynne " will be staged (this being the last night of the season). It Is recorded as a remarkable facb that the publishers' record for 1894 proves that the sale of ••East Lynne" far outnumbers that of any other work of fiction.
