SYDNEY, Friday, In the Legislative Assembly the debate on the censure motion and the amendments was continued until half an hour after midnight, when Mr Sobey's amendment to refet the fiscal issne to a referendum warn negatived by 74 to 25. A division was then taken on Parked original motion of censure, which was rejected by 67 to 34. The Sydney Morntng Herald, referring to the decisions, rays : — " We have now an end of an episode in polltioal life of the country which none of its promoters had ever reason to be proud, and the question has ended in the overwhelming defeat of the unholy coalition. Government, it s'aye, is in a stronger position than evet before, and however badly some prominent repntatlons may have been suffered to ohlpwreck Parliament 1 , the latter as a whole stood the test in a way which will increase the estimate held of it in- the mind of the eonntty.
