HOBAET, Thfreday, The statement to be submitA 'to the half-yearly meeting of credlMW of -ttys-*^ Bank of Van Dlemen's Land shows that the nominal surplus of £100,000 exhibited in tbe balance-sheet will not cover the anticipated losses in the course of liquidation, unless the value of the real estate throughout the colony is restored within a reasonable time, though the position will ba benefited in proportion to the success attending the disposal of the lottery tickets. The liabilities now stand at £352,000. The redaction since the closing of the bank amounts to £604,000. The order paper of the Postal Conference shows that there are 77 subjects for disoussion.
