The annnal report and balance-sheet were adopted, on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr J. S. Giblin. The report read as follows : —
In submitting tho balance-sheet to the 31st March, 1894, the directors congratulate tho shareholders on tho result of tho company's operations.
Owing to tho date of the annual balance hnvinK been changed from the 30th June Jo the 31st March, tho accounts prc-icnicd arc for a period of nino months, and show a profit of £5IM!) -2s fid (after proviiiiiiK for depreciation. &c), which tho directors propose should bp dispijsou op as follows :— ln payment of n (iiv^enu ot 8 per cent on capital, in nccordanco with articles of association, a bonus of
11 per cent on Roods purchased by shacohqlders, 7J per cent on commissions contributed by shareholders, a bonus at the rnlo of l\ percent, per annum, on wipttal, and tho balance, !> t ftpr paynu;n\s a.ye made, be carried fpewafd. The general business of tho company continues to increase, and, tho uorvipos ot Mr Alfred Reid having boon ocoured for the manwjeinont of tho live stock department, this. Ityuiioh, of the company's business has been largely oxtended.
In accordance with tho articles o! association two or iho directors, the Hon. Captain W. 11. Russell, M.H.It., nnd Mr J. 11. The retiring directors, Captain W. li. ttufaell a n d Mr J. H. Coleman, were reelected, The auditors, Messrs Robert Dobson and Co., were also re-elected.
