* Sydney, Monday. The premises of Messrs Cohea and Levy, merchants, Tomworth, were com. pletely gutted by fire to-day. The damage is estimated at £30,000. The premise* and stock are believed to be heavily in. sared.

Messrs Cohen and Levy were Insured for £22,000.

From 332 tons of stone from the Wvalong field a yield was obtained of 4G2 ounces of smelted gold. The bootmakers have written to tho masters declaring the strike off, as the non-nnionlsts who were the cause of the men refusing to work have now joined the union.
