The Russian Government has ordered the closing of the Roman Catholic Church In Kovno, the capital of the Government of the same name in European Russia on the Bilth, The Catholics resented the interference, and ocoupied the ohurch. Troops were summoned to expel them, and in doing so killed 20 and wounded 100. The remainder fled and were pursued by Cossacks. Many lost their lives In attempting to cross the river Nlemen.
