LARGE-MINDED CLERGYMEN.
Slß,— Allow me to congratulate the Rev. J. T. Wills and the otber prohibitionist clergy upon the victory which their followers have achieved in the return of Mr Carnell. It Ib high time thab such a minor point as religion should be subordinate to "the one thing needful "—prohibition. 1 hope, sir, that the day is nob far distant when we shall welcome these gentlemen as brothers and fellow-workers in the great cause of human progress, when they will csst off the fetters, aud shake themselves free from the superstitions of an effete Cburcb, and take as their watchwords " Preethonght and Prohibition."-! am, &c„
