Melbourne, Monday. The woman Knorr, alias Thwaites, is now being tried for child murder, The Crown Prosecntor, in opening the oaao, said that she had written a letter to a man named Thompson, asking him to Bwear what nhe wanted in regard to a partionlar child wbioh she was charged with murdering, and not to let her get a life sentence. She also aßked him to endeavor to square the counsel on the other side, and not let her own counsel know that she was manufacturing facts, as he would not permit it. She further requested Thompson to procare a woman to give false evidence respecting the child.

Mr Warnock, a resident of Camberwell, has filed owing to the depreciation of investments in stocks. His liabilities are £64,000 and his assets £20,000.
