ANOTHER TRIMMER.

We have recently had to expose Mr Ctmiell trimming on the education question, but have now found a worse instance. Mr Hall, who ia opposing Mr Hunter for the Waipawa seat, has all along been professing himself in faror of lihe present education Bystem, and opposed to giving grants to denominationalists. Now the fact comes out that he has been in secret correspondence with Father Keegan, the Waipawa parish priest, on this very subject, and has offered to support a bill for granting subsidies to Catholics. It he had said this openly and from the first nobody would have been entitled to object, for every man is fully entitled to think as he pleases on this as on other subjects, But it is the secrecy and political deceit ihib are contemptible. Runnicg with the hare and hunting with the hounds defines expressively a practice that has in all times earned the scorn of honest men, and Mr Hall, by going about publicly denying his reil intentions, and at the same time secretly corresponding with a Catholic priest, with a view to get him to pledge the assistance ot his fljck, is a very sorry spectacle indeed.
