The weather to-day was sufficiently ine to allow or the second day's races of be Wanganui Jockey Club's autumn neetiog (which had bees postponed since Friday) taking place. There was an exjellent attendance, and the events were well fought. The following are the remits : — HARRISON MEMORIAL STAKES, J mile. Mr Sntton's Eve, 6st 121b (G. Reid) ... 1 Captain Russell's Krina, 83t 31b (Robson) 2 Mr Calthorp's Monte Carlo, 7afc 51b (Lind) - 3 — Rebellion (9at 31b), Ngatioma (Sst 31b), and Ua (7st 31b) also ran. Won all oat by three-quarters of a leneth from KHdd, Monte Carlo being a good third. Time, lmin J9aec. Dividend, £5 189. SECOND HANDICAP HURDLES, About 2 miles. Mr C. Wordley's Empire, lOst 121b (Higgins) 1 Mr Lowry's Gondolier, lOst 81b (Redwood) 2 Mr Wilson's Disturbance, 9st 101b (Mitchell) 3 The other starters were Glenelg (lOst 7lb), Gladius (lOst), and Unity (9at). Won with ease. Time, 3min 50|seo. Dividend, £4. WANGANUI STAKES HANDICAP, 1J mile. Mr Bradley's Impulse, Bat Sib (Priest) 1 Mr Freeth'a Kevolution, 7sb 71b (Kingan) 2 Mr Darles 1 Mnsket, 7st 51b (Connop) 3 — Rangipuhi (7st), Free Lance (6st lllh), Sunheam (6st 111b), and Cordelia (6at 101b) also wenc to the post. A magnificent race, fought out from start to finish, and gained by a neck in the laßt two strides. Musket was a good third, Rangipnhi was fourth. Free Lance tifsb, Cordelia sixth, and Snnbeam last. Time, 2rain 43sec. Dividend, £2. NURSERY HANDICAP. 5 furlongs. Mr Snttoa's Eve, Bst 61b (Green) ... 1 Captain Russell's Noyade, Bst 10lb (J. Reid) 2 Mr Belcher's Banner, 7st 71b (Lind) ... 3 — These were the only starters. Won by a length. Time, lmln 5 3 sth sec. Dividend, £2 Bs. Two protests were lodged against Eve —one for inconsistent running, and the other for jostling Banner, but both were dismissed by the stewards. CORINTHIAN STAKES HANDICAP, 1 mile and a distance ; gentlemen riders. Mr J. E. Nugent's Stranger, list 61b (F.Scott) 1 Mr J. George's Darns, list 111b (F. Watson) 2 Messrs Hearn and Kennedy's Paradox, list 51b (G. Kennedy) 3 — There were no other starters. Won easily. Time, 2mia 5 3«sth sec. Dividend, £1 11s. AUTUMN HANDICAP, 1 mile. Mr J. Kean's Lottie 1 Captain Russell's Krina 2 Mr Sutton's Tit „ 3 .-Musket, Awaraa Rose, and Monte Carlo also ran. Lottie, who was poorly ridden, after half a mile had been traversed, and on entering the straight, appeared to be winning easily, but Krina made a des perate finish of it, and had it not been for the Napier mare breaking her rein she would nob have suffered defeat, As it was, she was only defeated by a short head. Dividend, £2 6s. No time was registered. HANDICAP HACK RACE. Mr Calthorpe's Eonovoree „. ... 1 Mr Wordley's Pennant 2 Mr Scott's Veracity 8 Won easily. Time, 2mln 4aeo. Dividend, £4 Is.
