Sentence was deferred pending the settlement) of some: points of law reserved daring the trial. Keselgh Martin, journalist, has been, arrested for promoting an alleged swindle in disposing by art union of properties in the estate of Laidman, agent. The low-lying country axonnd Newcastle ia flooded, and the police have had to resoue people in boats. (Rooelved March 10, 1 a.m.) Newcastle, Thursday. A fearful sea ia running outside. The captain of the brig Hebe, from Sydney, found that his vessel was unable to live, and drove her ashore in order to save life. She became a total wreak, but the crew were saved.
