THE PRINCE OP WALKS BPEAKS ON HEALTH.

In his able and timely remarks at the opening of the International Oongreßi of Hygiene, at St. James's pall, london, August 10th, 1891, the President, the Prince of \Walej, said:-" The highlit possible protperity it when rich and poor alike can So tucK usefitl work as they are fit for, and to this end- it is tttenhal thai they should evjoy the but potsible health and vigor.' Very true, but how can the publio health be best promoted? Clearly by such preventive measures as. the Oongross meets to consider, and by reliable remedies so long as oertain diseases oon* tinue to prevail. We submit an example of the later nepeiiity In the form of a statement whioh cannot fail to oonvinoe the minds of ell who may read it. [OOPX.] I, Margaret Morland, of Throstle Nest Farm, Haya Park, near Kaaresboro , Yorkshire, do jolqmnly and. sincerely, declare at follow! :—

" I bave iuforedwrmy life from a weak stomaob, Indigestion, and liter complaint. I was never properly well but always ailing and never seemed to gain strength. I hid a bad taste" in the .mouth and a strafe sinking feeling at the pit of my itomaoh. I had always .pain after eating, no matter how simple the food wft». My appetite war poor and what little I ate did not teem to give me strength. I had great pain «t the ohett and sides aud felt ai if I was held or bound round my walit, I was much troubled with sickness »nd veiy often found no ease until I vomited alt the food I had taken. I felt low, weak, and depressed, as if something was hanglpg over me. I could not sleep at night, and got «o bad tbat l even dreaded going to b»d, for I would lie awake for hoars together, and on risiog in tha morning I felt worne tired than when I went to bed. As yean went on I became a bad color, my skin and particularly the whites of my eyes were tinged of a yollowiih oolor, and at times I wag as yellow an a sovereign. In August, 1880, 1117 stomach became very irritable) and everything that I took turned sour ou my stomach, and I was constantly vomiting a fou! bitter fluid or gas. I took little or no nouriabmeiit, and after esoh morsel of even liquid food J strained and vomited as if my poor inside would como out, The pain at my heart now ; became bo severe that I beoame alarmed and sent for our dontor, who attended me for ten or twelve weeks, but all the medioino be gave me did no good. The dootorseemud pu«led with ray complaint and dunged the medicine over and over ag»io, but still I, got worse instead of better. At last I lost all faith in physio and gave op taking It. How better, now worse, I oontinued until July, 1888, when my kidneys beoame affeoted. I had dreadful pain in the baok and could not void my water. My skin was dry and hot, my lips parohed and feverish . After a time the water lodged so bad that I thought I should have died. I, grew weaker and weaker every day, and felt that if a change did not noon take plaoe my condition would be critical, for the pain was more than I eonld beer. I .could not even bide to lie in bed, and had to get out of bpd. and walk abont the room, I took all kinds of medioines but nothing gave mo more than temporary relief, and I dragged ou in this miserable state until December, 1888, when Mr Day, the ohemist, at Knaresboro', sent me a book telling of a medicine called Mother Seigel'e Curative Syrup, and I read of a case similar to mine having been cared by this medioine. I determined to try it, and sent to Mr. Day and proourod a largo bottle of the Syrup and commenced taking tt. I soon began to find relief, my food digested better and gave me strength, all paias in my baok and aides loft me. I oould now sleep better and gradually gained strength every da/, and by the time I bad token a 4e. 6d, bottle I was better thaa ever I was in my life, and bj taking

an odoasional dose I have-since -kept in good health. I may mention that I paid over aix pounda to one doctor and did not reoeive any benefit whatever.' I feel very grateful for the great benefit I have reoeived from Beigel'g Syrup, and J wish others to know jfc I have reoonmenaeA (tie Ki&iaise va m«af jwisp{« {a tftis district with «re»t benefit. My daughter, J&B.' W»», livi»g »t Yp»k, was craeioi severe dyspepsia after every other means had failed. If by publishing thia statement others may be benefited I Bhall be very glad, and I hereby give permission to the proprietors of Seigel's (Jjrup to make any use they may think fit of thia testimonial, and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true. By, virtue of the Provisions of the Statutory Declaration Aot, 1835. (William IV. c. 62.) Declared before me") _at iLeeds, in the County of York, by the said Ma- (Si d) of August, 1891. (Sgd) Air. Cookb, Mayor of Leedt.) Mr William Morland, the husband of this lady, is a farmer, well known and highly respeoted. He has lived on his present farm at Throstle Nest, Haya Park, seventeen years, and in the dv- . ttiet all his life. He was present at Leeds when the foregoing declaration by his wife wai read, and vouched for. its aoouraoy and truth. Mrs. Morlsnd's malady, indigestion and dyspepsia, is sufficiently common and fatal to make it a doty to give the wideat publicity to any remedy that will cute it. Hence our mention of tho above case in connection with the work of the society of which His Eoyal Highness is President.
