[ Tlie Queen of Wurtemburg had a i narrow escape from a dreadful accident '. while out driving at Monaco, where she > was sojourning for the benefit of her i health. The horses attached to the ; Queen's carriage were startled by a , passing train, and tailing over a preei- \ pice were killed. Fortunately the cari riage pole broke, or the carriage and its , occupants must also have been precipi- , tated over the cliff. The Queen was ! unhurt, but one of the footmen was i slightly injured. ; (Itccoived May 1, 1.15 n.m.) • April 30. • I Information has been received to the i effect that under pressure of Italian warl ships the Turkish Governor of Hodei- ' dah (Africa) was compelled to apologise I for insulting the Italian agent at that place.
