The s.B. Result returned from Waikari yesterday afternoon. She landed at Waikari a raft of timber, which comprised her deck load, buc was unable to land the rest of her cargo owing to the hoavy sea running on Uicbeach. She will returnt^JVyakari on the first favorable oppgrteffity. Tho 8.8. AJjiirffl, Captain Creagh, left for Waimarairia at 3 o'clock yesterday morning, . and "Was moored to tho breastwork at 3 p.m. »amo day. Sho only took twelve hours to proceed to her designation, land 35 tons of cargs, take aboard five bales of wool, and return to port. When sho arrived at Waimarama there was a good sea breeze. Captain Croagh saw that the wind was increasing from the south, and knowing that if he did "*ot get his cargo ashore quickly ho would have to return with it he hurried on the di3-chart-o. Some difficulty was excerii-nccd in landing the last boat-load, as the wind had now risen. However, as the woik was gono about, methodically, tho cargo was all landed, and the Ahuriri left Waimarama nt 12.30, arriving as above. . The schooner Spray, Cnptun Pattoson, arrived from Timaru yesterday after an eiuht dnys' passage. S-hohadarough nassngo, experiencing heavy N.W. gales off Cape Palliser for four dnj s. Phn has about 70 tons of produce consigned chiefly to Messrs W. Fl. Cooper and Ellison nnd Duncan, which she will start to discharge today. Her master is the agent. The R.M.S. Rimutaka is due from Auckland to-day. Tho s.s. Australia was to have left Auckland for here via East Coaet stations yesterday evening. She should arrive on Friday The s.s. Maitai was to have left Wellington last nieht. Sho is due hero to-night, and ■ prooeeds to Auckland to-morrow afternoon. The s.s. Kahu nnd Kiwi were to hnye left Wellington for Castlepoint and Napier last night.
