MISCELLANEOUS.
A violent eruption occurred on the islawl of Galita in the Mediterranean off the coast of Tunis on July 25th. Streams of lava issued from the crater, and the glare from the flames that were emitted was visible for fifty miles.
The reports up to July 27th respecting the condition of the Crown Prince Frederick William of Germany are to the effect that he is progressing rapidly. He has no difficulty in speaking, but his physicians advise him to exercise care. TheEmperor William, Prince Bismarck, the Queen of Spain, and Senor Oamones del Castello have received the Pope's gold medals in memory ot the Caroline Islands arbitration.
The Arabian Press announces that King: John of Abyssinia lias asked Queen Victoria through the British Resident at Aden to mediate between Ttaly and Abyssinia.
The Porte has dismissed its reserves, but a dispatch of the 27th July saya tlint tlie arms manufacturers at Suhi, Germany, have received orders for 500,000 side-arms for the Turkish army.
