VICTORIA.
(Received May 25, 1.15 a.m.) Melbourne, Tuesday. The Geographical Society of Victoria have decided to despatch at an early date an expedition to New Guinea under the leadership of Mr Cutlibertson. The autumn meeting of the Melbourne Hunt Club was held to-day. The principal event, the Handicap ' Steeplechase, ' was won by Promotion. Dnriii" the race Mr Penn-on's lady Ashton fell, nnd her injuries were so severe that she had 1 to be destroyed.
