Sir,—About a year ago a golden-haired individual came to Napier with nothing in his pocket, lie knew that he had nothing, and that he was earning little, yet lie calmly managed to live at tho rate of nearly £2000 a year. He failed, and getting afraid of the near approach of his public examination by the Judge, he calls a meeting of his creditors and oilers them 10s in the pound, on this security—that ho l/iay, perhaps, get a billet in Auckland, anil tiieA all that he earns over £4 10s a week his creditors can have. It was the first time we had beau! that he was able to cam 'even that sum, and i Uill doubt the ability of such an artist as he being able or Willing to do it.
