r '•■'■' T Sydney, Friday. In the Legislative Assembly last night the proposals of the. Government for the celebration of the centenary of Australia were rejected. • , The loss by the destruction of Cameron's tobacco factory is estimated at £80,000. The insurances amount to less than half that sum;

The total amount for which Cameron's factory was insnred-is' £42,000. Of this £1000 is insured in the South British Insurance Company of New. Zealand, £1000 in the National, £1000 in the Standard Insurance Company of New Zealand, and £140 in the New Zealand Insuranc-a Company.
