\ Recoived August 30,1.10 p.m. . \ Athens, August 28. An earthquake causing great destruction ,of property and loss of life has oe-. curled at Philiatra, a town on the south' of the west ooast of Greece, in the province 'of S^orea. .Fully-300' persons are knawn to have perished. '- -• . j (Rooolved August 31, l'n.m.) : j . - August 30. The latest accounts regarding the earthquake at Philiatra put the 'loss of life at less than was originally stated.. There have'been 116 bodies recovered. Many persons have been rescued from' the ruins of the town who have sustained serious, injuries.
