VICTORIA CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING.

The "plungers" had a good day out at the Victorian Club's race meeting on January sth, favorites passing the post first in five out of six events, tha other race being won by the second favorite, who was very heavily backed both singly and in doubles. The principal events were the Victorian Club Cup, won by Mr J. Redfearn's Madcap, by Robinson Crusoe— Giovanni ; and the Bookmakers Purse, which was appropriated by Mr W. Field's Mozart, by Napoleon— Queen Mary. A good field of horses Btarted for both races.
