LAND SALES.

Yesterday morning Mr M. R. Miller submitted to auction a number of valuable station properties in different parts of the provincial district. Tho sale was held in Mr Lyndon's auction room, and there wa3 a good attendance, but there was little competition except for the Mount Erin estate, of which the following lots wi-re disposed of :— Section No. 1, 16 acres, £26 per acre, E. W. Knowles; section 2, 16 acres, £25 per acre, E. W. Knowles ; section 3, 16 acres, £22 per acre, Jas. Watts ; section 4. 16J acres, £25 per acre, E. W. Knowles ; section 10, 24_ acres, £25 per acre, J. _»8atBon ; section 16, 30 acres, £24 per acre, R. Bader ; section 18, 30 acres, £24 per acre. Campbell and Britton ; section 19, 30 acres, £24 per acre, Henry Mackenzie ; section 22, 159^ acres, £14 per acre, *R. Dobson ; section 23, 121 aores, £14 per acre, H. Mackenzie. The balanceof the sections on the flat were passed in, the bidding not reaching the reserve price, as also were the hill sections. The Turiroa estate, Wairoa, was also passed in, with the exception of two small sections sold, viz., 1 section, 10 acreß, £7 per acre ; and 1 section, 76 acres, £8 per acre. All the other properties advertised are now. for sale privately. In the afternoon the Commissioner of Crown Lands offered for sale a number of sections forming the High School endowment at Wairoa, but only the following were sold :— Section 1, block 8, 407 acre?, J. Sidey, £610 10s; section 5, block 8, 356 acres, J. Powdrell, £445 ; section 6, block 8, 159 aores, J. Powdrell, £250. Between three and four acres at Olive, forming the old Ferry reserve, were sold for £50 to J. H. Cross ; and three Tarawera township sections were purchased by J. Hebberley and T. E. Brill for £7 10s each.
