[by telegraph.! Timaru, Friday. . The Geraldine races were continued today. The weather was beautiful, and the attendance was far larger and the sport much better than on the first day. Vanguard succeeded, as his friends were confident he would, in oarrying off the Cup. The following are the results:— handicap hurdle race. Of 100 soys ; 2 miles. Mr J. Barbary won easily by a couple of lengths. Mr Sheehan's Lad ran gamely, but the weight was rather too much, and told at the critical time. Dividend, £1 16s. ' CUP handicap, Of 150 soys ; 2 miles. Hop. W. Robinson's Vanguard, Bsfc 121 b (Derrett) 1 Mr. Bate's eh g The Poet, aged, 7st 21b (Sharp) 2 Mr D. O'Brien's br h Tasman, 6yrs, 9st 9lb (Keen) 3 — Mr Butler's Tim Whiffler also ran.
