(Received July 23, 2.5 p.m.) Melbourne, Wednesday. Further cases, of the doubtful disease now prevalent continue to be reported from different points.
(EeceiTed July 24, 0.42 a.m.) The following scratchings for the Melbourne Cup have been posted thia evening : — lllusion and Stookwell. Both horses are dead.
One death occurred to-day from smallpox at Pitzroy, in the north-east suburbs of this city.
