THE GENERAL ELECTION.

Gisborne, Monday. Mr Bees addressed the electors on Saturday night. Three hundred were present. He read a letter from the Working ,• Men's Political Association, stating that that body was convinced that he was not actuated by private feelings in his proceedings against Mr Locke, but that what he did waß on publio grounds. He characterised the decision in the case againßt Mr Locke as a gross miscarriage of justioe. He received p. vote of confidence. Christchuech, Monday. At the polling here to-day for the Southern Maori district two votes only were recorded, and those were for Taiaroa.
