NAPIER HARBOR BOARD.

Tuesday, December 19.

The Board met at 2 p.m. Present-- His Worship the Mayor, the Hon. J. N. Wilson, Messrs J. A. Smith, J. G. Kinross, M. R. Miller, A. Wardrop, J. N. Williams, and J. H. Vautier. In the absence of the chairman, Mr Vautier was voted to the chair. Special Meeting. The Chairman explained that the meeting was special for confirming the byelaw regarding the regulations and charges in connection with the new cargo sheds. A long discussion of a conversational nature took place as to the advisability of adoptiug so high a rate of charge for the use of the sheds as was proposed in the regulations, Mr Kinross stating that it would be better not to have cargo sheds at all than impose charges which would preclude merchants from using the sheds. Ultimately, on the motion of Mr Kinross, seconded by Mr Miller, a committee was appointed— consisting of Messrs Wardrop, Smith, and Kinross — to consider the subject and report to the Board. The special meeting was then adjourned to the third Tuesday in January.
