HUNT CLUB STEEPLECHASE MEETING.

[by telegraph.] Christchurch, Thursday. The weather for the Hunt Olub Steeplechase meeting to-day was rather fine, but not more than 1000 persons were present. The sport was very good, and no accident occurred. Thore was a good race between tho two first. Won by half a length. gone away stakes. Of 75 soys ; about 3 miles. O'Brien's b g Trovatore, list lllb (Owner) .. .. 1 Cassidy's blk g Levant, list lllb (Piper) 2 Adam's br h Koscuisco (Sheen) . . 3 Overdraft, 12st 71b, also ran, but baulked at the end of tho first mile. Koscuisco ran round a fence, and Trovatore had it all his own way, though Levant got within two lengths of him on sufferance. Overdraft was the favorite.
