The s 3. Fairy, Captain John Campbell, returned from Te Apiti yesterday afternoon, ha\ing successfully landed all her carero. The Union Steamship Company s s.s. Kotomahana, Captain Thomas Underwood, left Wellington at 10 o'clock last evenm?, and will arrive here this afternoon. Her ear.ro for this port consists of about 90 tons of general goods, which will take some time to discharge. The Boojum is advertised to take the outward Northern passengers off at S o'clock to-nisht, the Rotomahauu steaming for Poverty Ray and Auckl md shortly afterwards. The topsail schooner Endeavor, Captain Dick, is now at the breastwork discharging her cargo of colonial produce from Oauiarn. f The schooner Hannah BaiTett arrived in the roadstead late last nisrht from Lytteltou. She brings a full cargo of colonial produce for this port, whiaU she vrili discharge on being brought to the breastwork this morning. The Union Steamship Company s s.s. Ringarooma, Capt.iiu H. W. H. Chatfleld, left Gisborue at 6 o'clock last evening, aud will be in our roadstead at daylight this morninir. The Boojum will leave the breastwork at C3 l this morning to bring the inward passengers ashore. The Three Brothers will attend for cargo. The oniwanl pnssemrers leave the breastwork at 11.30 a.m., and the Binsarooina will steam for Melbourne via Wellington and Southern ports about 1 p.m. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Boojnra, Captain K. Maloney, steams for Wairoa nt midnight on Monday. A most extraordinary submarine ship has been invented by a Roumanian engineer by name Theodoresco. It can remain for twelve hours at a depth of 300 feet beneath the surface without inconvenience to the crew. Motion is secured by means of a screw, and as at the depth of a hnndred feet it is sufficiently light iv clear water to avoid obstacles, a moderate speed cau safely be obtained.
