Meliourne, Saturday,
On the application of the plaintiff a new trial has been ordered in the libel action brought by Mr H. R. Williams, who was Minister for Mines in the late Berry Administration, against the Arqus, in which a verdict was on the loth ult. returned for the defendants.
An intercolonial eight-oared boat race, between Victoria and New South Wales crews, was rowed to-day on the Yarra, and resulted in a victory for the Sydney men by three lengths.
